It was established on 17 April 2017 with the function to support and represent the voice of local rail industry players. MARIC is the focal point for local rail industry in Malaysia that assist the strategic development for human capital, technology & supply chain. We support the government policies on national rail industry development and maximize the benefits from government investment to local rail industry.
36 local rail companies under the roof of MARIC focusing on seven (7) clusters f capabilities in systems work such as signalling, track works, rolling stocks, telecommunication, power supply, automated fare collection and consultancy, With the government’s support through its localisation policy, the local rail industry has developed and achieved international standards and recognition. This is due to local player’s involvement in three major projects under The Greater Kuala Lumpur Plan 2010. The projects were awarded based on the capabilities of MARIC members together with each respective local and international rail partner.
